Dear Blue Lakes Family:
I am excited and honored to begin the new school year with all our new and returning Wildcats. Last academic school year we proved to be resilient and hardworking, through the most difficult and unprecedented times. Our students, with the assistance of their teachers, paras, support staff, and administration adjusted and adapted to our new normal. We continue to be an exceptional, “A” rated school, who services elementary aged students and students within the Autism Spectrum from grades PK-8th grade. We continue with our school designation for STEAM of “GOLD”. I want to personally thank all students and teachers that participated in STEAM activities and showcased the amazing work we do, daily, virtually and in person.
As always, the summer has been a busy time at our school. Our custodial staff has worked extra hard to ensure that all classes, hallways, and common areas are pristine and sanitized. This year there will be several exciting changes. We are part of the General Obligation Bond (GOB), where our school has been receiving structural changes such as new windows, A/C units, and repainting of our building. We are looking forward to the completion of this project and sharing the new areas with our staff and students.
We cannot wait to welcome all our teachers and staff on our first official workday, August 18, 2021. This year’s theme will be “My Team Is Made Up of Superheroes”. I truly believe that my team is comprised of all stakeholders (teachers, paras, custodial staff, security staff, cafeteria staff, students, parents, officers, administration, and support staff from our region and district). It takes a village. Our teachers will continue to undergo intensive trainings to ensure equity and the highest level of education for our students. We ask that parents communicate with our teachers throughout the process, so that we can form a common bond in your child’s educational experience.
Our PTA, headed this year by Mrs. Annie Cain and Ms. Analy Rodriguez, together with school administration welcome you and look forward to your support on all our future programs, incentives, and activities to promote our school. Once again, I am honored to be your Principal. I cannot wait to see all the great things that will happen at Blue Lakes Elementary this year. If you have any questions, concerns, or want to become part of our Blue Lakes Family, please feel free to contact me at adriansanchez@dadeschools.net.
Sincerely,
Mr. Adrian M. Sanchez
