Dear Blue Lakes Family:

I am excited and honored to begin the new school year with all our new and returning Wildcats, as we open our doors virtually, and take on the challenge of learning and educating through an online platform. Last academic school year we proved to be resilient and hardworking. Our students, with the assistance of their teachers, paras, support staff, and administration adjusted and adapted to our new normal. We continue to be an exceptional, “A” rated school, who services elementary aged students and students within the Autism Spectrum from grades PK-8th grade. I am excited to announce that our school designation for STEAM is that of “GOLD” for the 2019-2020 school year. I want to personally thank all students and teachers that participated in STEAM activities and showcased the amazing work we do, daily.

As always, the summer has been a busy time at our school. Our custodial staff has worked extra hard to ensure that all classes, hallways, and common areas are pristine and sanitized. This year there will be several exciting changes. We are part of the General Obligation Bond (GOB), where our school has been receiving structural changes such as new windows, A/C units, and repainting of our building. We are looking forward to the completion of this project and sharing the new areas with our staff and students.

We cannot wait to welcome all our teachers and staff on our first official work day, August 19, 2020. This year’s theme will be “Many Pieces, One Goal”. Our teachers will undergo an intensive training for 5 days on a new online platform that will be uniformed across the district, in order to ensure equity and the highest level of education for our students.

Our PTA, headed this year by Mrs. Guier and our very own Annie Cain, together with school administration welcome you and look forward to your support on all our future programs, incentives, and activities to promote our school. Once again, I am honored to be your Principal. I cannot wait to see all the great things that will happen at Blue Lakes Elementary this year.
